Harriet graduated with a BA in European Social and Political Studies from UCL in 2011, including a year working and studying in Paris. After a year working in Brussels, she joined KPMG in Southampton, qualifying as an accountant in 2014. She worked for an interesting and diverse mix of clients ranging from international corporates to small charities. Always keen for opportunities abroad, she carried out some pro bono advisory work for an international charity in South Africa. She was also an active member of the Southern Chartered Accountants Student Society, organising annual charity netball tournaments and promoting sports.
Harriet has always been keen on sports and is an active supporter of Royal Navy sport. She has played rugby whilst in Paris and Southampton, and netball in Brussels, where she also discovered a passion for cycling. A personal highlight of her time at KPMG was cycling across France with a team of four ladies and one transit van (which broke down ten miles from the finish line!).
Seeking a new challenge, Harriet joined the Royal Navy in November 2014. So far, she has served on HMS Ocean during her training and HMS Westminster as Deputy Logistics Officer, UKMCC Bahrain and HMS Collingwood.
Harriet became a serving Trustee of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity in October 2017.
